| | Well well, look who is posting again after almost 4 months of silence. I figured since today is a very important day, I would ask you all one question. And that is: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? Yes, that is correct: the NFL season kicks off tonight with the hometown 'Skins playing the defending Super Bowl champion Giants. I hope to catch at least the last half of the game. There is singing at the Blue Ridge nursing home this evening, so I figured I should probably go there first, since cheering up older people is more important that cheering on NFL players who can't hear or see me and don't even know I exist. The last four months have been good. I haven't done too much out of the ordinary, except I did go on a 5 day canoe trip way back in the middle of July. Myself and two other men from church took 6 boys from Manassas on a trip designed to teach them about relating to God, each other, and nature. All but one of the boys attend the Kids Klub that we have in Manassas during the school year. Nelson Beachy from Camp Andrews went along as our guide. We canoed around 50 miles of the James River down close to Lynchburg. It was a very good, but stretching trip for us. Things didn't go all the way as smoothly as we would have liked, what with bad attitudes and lack of motivation on the guys parts. But it did give us an up close and personal look at their everyday lives, and there were brief glimpses of goodness that we saw, included some moments of positive peer pressure. The boys had lots of fun swimming and fishing, as well as going thru some of the bigger rapids. Overall, I was glad that I went, even though it meant leaving Naomi and Jolynn back home for most of a week. Well, I should run along home. Hopefully it won't be 4 months before you "hear" from me again. Godspeed to you all. Darrell
